Funeral Planning
The loss of a loved one can be a time of great distress but also of spiritual blessing. Our parish is committed to providing funeral liturgies that both honour the deceased and strengthen the faith of the living. It is appropriate to contact the parish immediately, even before meeting with the funeral director, to plan the funeral Mass.
Of particular importance and value is the Church's desire to have the body present at the funeral Mass, even if cremation is to follow. Other important guidelines for a Catholic funeral are available here.

The website of the Gardens of Gethsemani, the Catholic cemetery, offers downloadable guides to a number of questions including funeral planning.

The parish will assist in funeral preparation in every way, providing a helpful guide for the planning of the funeral vigil and Mass. This and other resources are also available for those who wish to plan a funeral in advance of need.
