What is Lent?
Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent, a time of self-examination, fasting, and penance to prepare us for the joyful celebration of Easter. “By the solemn forty days of Lent the Church unites herself each year to the mystery of Jesus in the desert” (Catechism of the Catholic Church #540).
Lent is marked by three things: prayer, fasting and almsgiving. By offering up small sacrifices through the season, we unite ourselves to Christ's sacrifice on the cross for our sins.

There's something for everyone happening at the parish this Lent. All our events are family-friendly and open to all - we look forward to seeing you!
Fridays: Soup and Silence, Stations of the Cross
Soup and Silence, hosted by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, is a time for a simple meal of bread and soup accompanied by sacred music and readings. Soup and Silence is followed by Stations of the Cross in the Church. Registration is required for Soup and Silence but all are welcome for stations and no pre-registration is required.
